Jacksonville, Florida Family Photographer – NAPCP Master Photographer

You may recall, that back in October of last year, I was awarded with a Certificate of Mastery in Newborn Photography. Well, I have some exciting news… I’ve done it again! I am proud to announce that I have also been certified as a Master Family Photographer!

This certification is awarded once a year to only a small handful of NAPCP (the National Association of Professional Child Photographers) members who “demonstrate their excellence in the craft of professional family photography.” To earn this prestigious certification I had to first submit a portfolio of 25 images with a very specific criteria: at least 15 portraits with 3 or more family members that include any combination of child/children and parent/guardian, 5 photos of siblings without adults, and 20 of the images needed to contain at least one adult. The portfolio needed to demonstrate a consistent style, but needed to showcase diverse scenes/settings, poses, subjects, expressions, and overall feel. Choosing 25 images with completely different subjects and posing was a bit trickier than you might think, especially since I’ve had so many repeat clients over the years, but I am so proud of the portfolio I put together!

My gallery of images was evaluated by an esteemed panel of judges and in order to pass the critique I needed to score an exemplary rating. This means that each image had to be not only beautiful, but also have a strong emotional impact and no technical errors.
