Maternity Photography Experience
From the moment you find out you’re pregnant, you have hopes and dreams for your baby.

discovery call
When you contact me, I’ll schedule a Discovery Call where we’ll go through your vision for your Maternity photo shoot. We can schedule this call as early in your pregnancy as you like, ideally by your second trimester. We’ll discuss the overall look and feel you desire, what kinds of images you want, and what artwork you may want in your home. This call gives us the opportunity to make sure working together is a good fit.
consultation
Whether in person or virtually, our next step is a full consultation where we go through every step of your Maternity Photography Experience. Together, we’ll design your entire session including styling, outfit, location and overall look. Outfit planning can be complicated, so I’m always available to help with clothing choices and coordination. We’ll also go through all the artwork available for your portraits and your level of investment. Then we can book your session for when you are between 28 and 36 weeks pregnant.

This is the fun part! I’ll guide you through posing and actions, then give you space to relax and be yourself. My goal is to capture a variety of posed and candid moments to preserve this special period in your memory forever.
Viewing
One to two weeks after your session, we’ll meet again for your Viewing Appointment. I will have gone through all your images and pulled only the very best ones for softproof editing, adjusting cropping and lighting. I’ll show you these edited images in a slideshow and guide you through selecting your favorite images for full editing.

Once we’ve narrowed down your edited images to your favorites, we’ll discuss how you want to display your portraits in gorgeous artwork for your home. I offer computer simulations of your walls to custom-design gallery walls, and stunning heirloom albums, among many other pieces of art to choose from. As you wait for your printed artwork, you’ll receive a matching digital file for any products you’ve ordered.

Questions
When should I book my maternity session?
Ideally you should book your session at the beginning of your second trimester. This is also the perfect time to book newborn portraits, if you’re interested.
Is there an incentive to book maternity and newborn sessions together?
Yes! If you book maternity and newborn sessions at the same time, you’ll receive $100 off your newborn session fee. Working together on maternity photos also allows me to build a relationship with you and your family which can make the newborn session run more smoothly.
When is the best time to take maternity photos?
28 to 36 weeks pregnant is generally perfect, but timing can depend on your pregnancy. If you’re having multiples or if you have had previous pregnancies, we may want to adjust. We want to capture your beautiful growing belly, but we don’t want you to be uncomfortable.
Can we include my partner and/or kids in the session?
Yes! Your family is growing so why not make this a family session, too? Including older siblings is a great way to encourage a connection with their new baby sibling and remind them that even though your family is changing, they’re still an integral part of your family.
What should I wear?
Upon booking, I will send you a style guide to help with outfit planning and coordination. Some moms choose to wear casual or dressy clothes, and some want to do two different outfits. I recommend a dress or shirt that’s fitted around your belly, or an empire waist that allows us to define your bump. Solids and textures are great for maternity sessions. Overall you want to choose something that makes you feel beautiful and comfortable.
Should I invest in professional hair and makeup?
Professional hair and makeup styling is not mandatory, but it’s absolutely recommended. Your body is working hard to grow a human. You deserve to treat yourself, be pampered, and let someone else take care of this for you. You’ll definitely want to look and feel your best.

This is such a special moment. We want to celebrate your pregnancy and your growing family. Let’s capture some of the most precious moments you’ll ever have with this baby.
