I got my first camera as a child—a bright pink 110 cartridge film camera—and I carried it everywhere I went. I snapped photos, pored over them, and organized them into albums for hours. I learned early that capturing special moments is essential, and preserving my family's story was important to me.

I learned to be the memory-keeper at an early age

In high school, my passion for photography grew. I learned to develop film in a dark room, and fell in love with the timeless beauty of black and white photography. My skills improved, and so did my eye for capturing the emotion in my subjects.

Later, I learned the mechanics of great photography

I always knew I wanted to work with babies and children, and teaching seemed like an obvious career choice. For years, I taught all ages from babies to fifth grade, and loved getting to know my kids and what made them smile.

As a teacher, I learned how to work with children

When Lilah, Wesley and Elianna came along, I couldn’t believe how time seemed to fly by. I wanted to stop the clock and capture them in the little moments where they cuddled, played and held my hand. My husband gifted me my first DSLR, and I learned to stop time with my camera.

As a mother, I learned how quickly these moments pass
